ABOUT THIS ROLE

YWCA Australia is currently seeking a dedicated Case Manager to join our Parenting Support Program. This role is offered on a part time (60.8 hours per fortnight) basis on a maximum term contract ending on 30 June 2023 and is based in our Malak office.

The Case Manager for the Parenting Support Program provides strength-based case management, parenting support and child well-being activities across a range of programs designed to increase independence in young families. The Case Manager links clients into mainstream services such as Centrelink, Department of Housing and health care agencies.

ABOUT YOU

The ideal applicant we are seeking will have:

  • Qualification in Community Services and/or Youth Work.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with clients and colleagues, including those from diverse cultural backgrounds and with linguistic needs.
  • Experiencing in delivering high quality, strength-based case management.
  • Demonstrated experience working with families to identify issues that require early intervention for reducing risk and developing capacity for increased effectiveness as a family unit.
  • A high-level understanding of the complex issues facing parents and caregivers in caring for and raising children.
  • Hold or ability to apply for a valid Senior First Aid Certificate, National Criminal History Check, NT Driver’s License and Working with Children (Ochre) Card and comply with any vaccination polices.
  • Strong supporter of Women’s Rights and willing to push the boundaries.
  • Team player who is approachable with strong interpersonal and listening skills together with the ability to empower.
  • Results focused, self-motivated and a self-starter who goes above and beyond.
  • Doesn’t settle, strives for continues improvement and has a high level of integrity.

This position will require the applicant to satisfactorily meet our pre-employment requirements. This includes:

  • Completion of a national criminal history check
  • A valid relevant state-based working with children permit.
  • Proof of Covid-19 Vaccination, which includes Government recommended boosters.
