<p>The Springboard AOD Recovery Program is a 6 week part-time community day rehabilitation service for people experiencing co-occurring mental health and substance abuse issues. The program is designed to offer a more flexible and less intensive approach to treatment, than long-term residential rehabilitation.</p>
<p>The program is underpinned by an Acceptance &amp; Commitment Therapy (ACT) framework, and takes a holistic approach to rehabilitation. Springboard comprises a number of service components, delivered directly by Springboard staff or through established working partnerships with other services. These include: psycho-social education and skill building groups, a physical activity program, case management and referral to other supports.</p>

<h3>Position Responsibilities include:</h3>

<p>Communify, with funding from Brisbane North Primary Health Network will be delivering in partnership with Brisbane Youth Service, Institute of Urban Indigenous Health and The Way Back Support Service (TWBSS) in the Brisbane north region. TWBSS is a suicide attempt after-care service that was developed by Beyond Blue to fill the gap in continuity of care for people discharged from hospital after a suicide attempt. TWBSS provides non-clinical, tailored support for up to three months following discharge from hospital after a suicide attempt or suicidal crisis.<br /><strong></strong></p>
<h3><strong>About the role</strong></h3>
<ul>
<li>Provide leadership, coordination and guidance</li>
<li>Support the planning, development and implementation of suicide prevention activities with participants</li>
<li>Engage participants and develop trust, culturally appropriate, trauma informed professional relationships</li>
<li>Work collaboratively with participants to identify their needs, set goals and develop safety plans and care plans</li>
<li>Work in partnership with service providers and community groups to create a support network for participants</li>
</ul>
<h3><strong>Role criteria</strong></h3>

<li>Tertiary qualifications in Mental Health or Social Services related fields</li>
<li>Demonstrated management experience in human services sector</li>
<li>Sound understanding of personal, family and social issues associated with suicidal ideation and attempts, including awareness of groups identified to be at risk of suicide</li>
<li>Demonstrated skills and ability to work effectively with participants, family members and service providers to identify solutions</li>
<li>Excellent communication skills, particularly with individuals and their families/carers who may be experiencing significant distress</li>
<li>Experience liaising with external service providers including tertiary mental health services, GPs and other community-based services and organisations</li>
<li>Solid understanding of recovery principles, strengths based principles and trauma informed support</li>
