Gender and Disaster Australia (GADAus) promotes the prevention and control of violence, abuse and discrimination against women, children and LGBTIQA+ people and men’s self-harm and suicide, before, during, and after emergency and disaster situations.
Holding a vision for an Australian society that recognises and acts to prevent the impacts of harmful gendered stereotypes before, during and after disasters, we work to inform inclusive and evidence-based responses to disaster and emergency management.
You can find out more about GADAus at: https://genderanddisaster.com.au/
The Finance, Risk and Audit Committee is appointed by the Gender and Disaster (GADAus) Board of Directors to assist it in fulfilling its corporate governance and oversight responsibilities in relation to financial monitoring and reporting, risk management and internal controls, auditing, and compliance.
The Board of Directors is now seeking a Certified Practising Accountant (CPA) to serve as a Volunteer Member of the Committee. The Committee Member will not be an elected Board Director, but will provide advice, guidance and independent oversight to the Finance, Risk and Audit Committee based on their accounting and financial management knowledge and experience.
The Committee Member will be appointed for an initial period of one (1) year (with the possibility of reappointment), with a commitment of six (6) online committee meetings per year of one (1) hour each. Meetings are generally held every two (2) months on Wednesdays at 9.30am.
If you would like to offer your accounting skills and experience to support our small and dedicated team, we would love to hear from you via our attached Expression of Interest (EOI) form.
