About Omico

Omico is a non-profit, government-funded company, whose mission is to create an infrastructure to support precision oncology research and implementation nationally. Omico comprises eight leading cancer centres representing all states and territories, as well as the National Health and Medical Research Council Clinical Trials Centre, and the Garvan Institute of Medical Research. Omico has two major domains of activity: Molecular Screening and Therapeutics (MoST), and personalised risk management (Genetic Cancer Risk in the Young: RisC).

The Role

Omico is looking for a hands-on Chief Financial Officer with a proven track record in financial management and financial reporting, cost and revenue optimisation, strategic modelling and forecasting, asset & risk management and compliance activities. You have the expertise needed for continued future growth, reviewing and supporting efficiencies throughout the business transformation process. You build and manage effective stakeholder relationships at all levels and have excellent communication skills including the ability to influence, negotiate, manage divergent perspectives and build productive relationships with all stakeholders, internal and external. You are a problem solver, able to work calmly under pressure, embrace change, and influence and drive commercial and operational outcomes.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

The key skills and experience include:

  • Chartered Accountant (CA) / Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
  • Demonstrated strategic financial leadership experience at CFO level
  • Demonstrated ability and experience in delivering quality, timely and accurate financial reports, providing financial and strategic planning and management, understanding and application of accounting standards, risk management and forecasting methods
  • Hands-on experience with accounting and financial management software including Xero
  • Expertise in MS Excel
  • Demonstrated understanding of business and financial and accounting process management, with ability to initiate and effectively implement continuous improvement as well as major change
