ABOUT THE ROLE

Are you passionate about political campaigning and great with people and logistics? We are looking for multiple Polling Booth Coordinators to coordinate our early voting and polling day volunteers in key electorates for the Federal Election. You will be responsible for ensuring that on election day, and across early voting, every election booth in your designated area is covered Green and has a volunteer ready to meet every voter and hand them a Greens How to Vote Card.

Getting ready for election day is a big logistical process, coordinating thousands of volunteers, and materials distribution across the state. To reach your local goal you will need to identify and develop volunteer leaders and train them to recruit and roster volunteers for their local booth using our in-house systems. If an area isn’t on track, you will be the backstop to ensure there are volunteers to fill the gap.

This isn’t your average job: you’ll often work weekends and evenings instead of weekdays, and you’ll need to be self-motivated and flexible – but you’ll meet amazing Greens members from all walks of life, and make a real difference to growing the political party that fights for our future. If you enjoy working with people and are passionate about building a progressive Australia, you’ll love this job.

The next federal election could happen anytime until May 21st, 2022. This election presents a crucial opportunity to put the Greens in the balance of power in the lower house and also re-elect the Greens Leader Adam Bandt and Senator Lidia Thorpe.

ABOUT THE VICTORIAN GREENS

The Greens have a proud history of speaking up for what is right, not just what is easy or what polls well. Over the course of the last four decades, the Greens have become the third force in Australian politics.

In 2010, Adam Bandt won the seat of Melbourne, becoming the first Greens MP in the lower house. Since then, Adam has delivered for our values and our community, securing $13 billion for clean energy and getting kids dental into Medicare. Imagine what we could do with more Greens MPs in the lower house!

The Greens are much more than an environmental party. The Greens are also working in many other areas to champion integrity, decency and fairness. As well as representing constituents, the Greens speak on behalf of those who wouldn’t otherwise get much of a say inside parliament: children, refugees, students, individuals and families living in poverty and, of course, our natural environment.
