JCC is looking for a Head of organisational development to join our leadership team, and to help us build a school that is both culturally and trauma responsive.
Established in 2011, Jabiru Community College (JCC) is based in Zillmere, North Brisbane. We are a small special assistance school and learning community that provides education for approximately 80 young people seeking a flexible, caring and holistic approach to learning. Approximately 30% of our students identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander and another 30% of our young people identify as part of the LGBTIQAP+ communities.
Reporting to the Co-Principal, this is a new leadership role with flexible arrangements negotiable - full-time or part-time with a minimum of 3 days per week.
The role
- Creating and implementing programs and activities that promote a strength based, intentional, reflective and collaborative workplace culture that is striving hard to implement the JCC practice framework and achieve our mission.
- Designing and implementing onboarding programs to ensure new staff members are integrated into the college's culture and values.
- Collaboratively develop and manage, implement and record the professional development program to support staff growth and the college’s vision and mission.
- Building capacity within the college through the implementation of succession planning and leadership development programs.
- Maintaining and building relationships with external stakeholders.
This position is for a highly skilled and experienced head of organisational development who has strong leadership and coaching values and can bring and deliver a wide range of tasks and experience including;
- Be a member of the College executive leadership team, committed to working with and alongside colleagues to support their capacity to be autonomous, intentional, innovative, collaborative and reflective practitioners.
- Developing whole team processes that incorporate feedback, reflection, skill development and coaching to enhance staff skills and practice.
- Contributing to the college's strategic planning and decision-making processes by providing guidance on organisational development issues and opportunities.
- Mediating and resolving conflicts that arise within the college and providing training to staff on dispute resolution processes.
- Line Management of up to 8 staff.
About you
- Approximately five years of experience in organisational development, training and facilitation or related field including working with people from different backgrounds and life experiences.
- Qualifications in a relevant field in Human Resources/Organisational Development/Human Services/Social work.
- A willingness to engage in culturally safe and appropriate protocols/processes in alignment with JCC policies.
- Strong collaborative leadership skills and the ability to manage in a complex and dynamic work environment.
- Ability to work collaboratively with other members of the college leadership team and staff at all levels.
- Excellent communication, facilitation and interpersonal skills, with the ability to help people to create a strength-based culture and work across difference.
- You have a Working with Children paid Employee Blue Card (authorisation by the Commission for Children & Young People to work with under 18 year olds).
- Current drivers licence.
