About us

Advanced Paediatric Life Support (APLS) commenced operations in Australia in 1997. The mission of APLS is to promote excellence in emergency care of ill and injured children through the provision of high-quality contemporary education programs for health care professionals. APLS is a not-for-profit organisation with its head office located in Melbourne. APLS runs programs throughout Australia with outreach work conducted in the Pacific Rim.

About the Role

This position 60.8 hours (0.8EFT) to be worked over Monday to Friday. Hours will vary based on business needs, there will be times when you will be required to work 76 hours per fortnight for busy periods and covering staff are on leave. Some tasks within Administration and Accounts are covering a permanent role on leave and do not form permanent duties of this position.

The successful applicant will be highly organised, enthusiastic, self-motivated, and reliable with great communication and be able to multi-task. This is a busy and varied role and someone with a flexible attitude will enjoy this position immensely.

Key Responsibilities: Please refer to the Position Description for actual duties and Key Selection Criteria

  • Office duties include administration support and assistance; events and ordering of office supplies, accounts payable and receivable.
  • Communicating effectively with internal and external stakeholders
  • Dealing with and resolving customer queries
  • Ensuring that a high level of customer service is maintained at all times
  • Act as the primary source of contact for the PLS and APLS 2 Day Refresher courses and Venue Hire located at the APLS Head office
  • Funded hospital invoicing, faculty and staff expense claims and process refunds and vouchers claims
  • This position will be supporting all positions of the office staff

Skills and experience required:

  • Minimum of 12 months experience in Customer Service/Office Administration role, preferably with a small to medium business or not for profit organisation.
  • Have exceptionally strong organisational and time management skills
  • Able to work autonomously with excellent problem solving skills
  • Be results driven and customer centric
  • Have a high attention to detail
  • Have demonstrated experience in working autonomously and as part of a team
  • Demonstrate developed communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage with a wide range of people
  • Be flexible with the ability to maintain quality outcomes whilst working under pressure
  • Excellent level of Microsoft Office proficiency
  • Experience in accounts administration including reconciling customer payments and debtors
  • Capable of working in a rapidly changing environment and meeting deadlines
  • Strong alignment and commitment to APLS values
  • Have the right to work in Australia and obtain a National Police Check.
