About the role

This position takes a lead role in financial management for Aspect Education encompassing the day-to-day account operations, managing the monthly reporting and leading the budget process for Aspect Education. It supports the Education Management team for efficient operation through the in-depth analysis of financials and makes a strategic recommendation to management based on identified trends and risks. It is also in charge of overseeing the Accounts receivables.

Key Responsibilities

• Support senior group accountants to better manage business units’ financial performance and assist them in making informed business decisions based on accurate financial analysis
• Management of school funding (state, federal and other) and liaising with relevant agencies
• Support Finance Team to improve initiatives across balance sheet governance, fixed assets, intra-company, lease accounting, capital financial modelling and statutory reporting within JDE
• Manage the aged debtors for Aspect Education within the targets set by the CFIO
• Assist senior group accountants in managing the annual budget cycle, including producing the annual budget and the periodic forecast, ensuring the accuracy is maintained at all times

Skills, experience & qualifications

• Accounting degree or diploma/certificate in accounting; CPA or CA essential
• Minimum three years' experience in an accounting role
• Excellent IT skills with sound Microsoft Office computer knowledge - primarily Excel
• Well-developed written and verbal communication & interpersonal skills
• High level attention to detail & accuracy
• Proven experience with JDE is essential whilst knowledge of TM1 and Reports Now is desirable
• NSW Working with Children Check clearance for paid employment due to access to private & sensitive client information

If successful, you will be required to undertake a National Police Check which Aspect will arrange.
