Aspect Adult Community Services (AACS) is recruiting for a part-time Safeguarding Coordinator who will be responsible for ensuring the quality of service delivered to our participants, particularly in relation to safeguarding practices, Positive Behaviour Support and implementation of safe and positive strategies across programs.

This position works collaboratively with staff to provide guidance, support and coaching and takes an active role in incident management, reporting and ensuring ongoing compliance. 

This role is 3 days a week -  Wednesday, Thursday and Friday - and is a hybrid role, working at the nearest AACS site and working from home. We have AACS sites at Heatherton, Hawthorn, Altona Meadows and Northcote.

About Aspect Adult Community Services

AACS employs support workers and leadership staff and delivers services that are person-centred, flexible, responsive and evidence-informed for individuals on the autism spectrum. This role will see you building and nurturing connections in AACS base sites and community environments with participants, and providing support to all staff to drive high quality services.

 What will you bring to the role?

  • Sound knowledge of person-centred and human rights based approaches
  • Strong administrative and organisational skills, with ability to work to timeframes
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
  • Ability to resolve problems, to tolerate stress and demonstrate attention to detail
  • Ability to be flexible and innovative, and show initiative in service delivery and supervision of staff
  • Sensitivity to the needs and aspirations of people with disability and their families
  • Working knowledge of the NDIS Quality & Safeguards Commission, state/territory RPA processes and NDIS Practice Standards
  • Driver’s Licence valid in Australia, willingness to drive a minivan and use of own vehicle for business purposes (desirable)
  • NDIS Worker Screening Check clearance for paid employment (or willingness to obtain)
  • Current VIC Working with Children Check for paid employment (or willingness to obtain)
  • NDIS Worker Orientation Module ‘Quality, Safety and You’ - if you have not already completed the module, click here to access it
  • You may also be required to provide an international police clearance
