We’re looking for a Clinical Management Trainer who can volunteer remotely (from home) for 3 months. Join the Australian Volunteers Program to contribute to sustainable development across the Federated States of Micronesia. 

 About the Partner Organisation: 

Kosrae State Hospital is the only hospital in Kosrae Island, one of the four states in the country of Federated States of Micronesia. This hospital is run and operated by the Kosrae State Department of Health Services under the Kosrae State Government. It is a government owned hospital and had been providing healthcare services for the people of Kosrae for more than 60 years and remains committed to the mission and vision of the Health department. The hospital has 40 beds servicng a population of 7,000 residents. There are currently 12 staff physicians and 30 clinical nurses at the hospital. Covid-19 is a new disease that requires new knowledge and skills for health care professionals (HCP) at all levels at the Kosrae State hospital in the FSM to be upgraded in order to cohesively and effectively fight Covid-19. Early planning, preparations and trainings are critical needs to be administered immediately to all of Kosrae’s HCPs in order to have timely prevention and appropriate response to this disease. The bulk of the Kosrae hospital HCPs currently lacks the appropriate or updated knowledge on Covid-19. The Kosrae State hospital is in critical need of this training project. We hope to develop this initiative with AVP in order to help doctors and nurses to quickly and efficiently up skill to have the knowledge and skills in HDU and ICU and general hospital management care for Covid-19 and to provide online support for those needing it through ZOOM or other preferred media.

About the Position: 

• You’ll be providing courses in clinical management to local staff.
• You’ll need experience in the medical field, with experience in training others in the prevention of infectious diseases.
• You’ll allow Kosrae hospital to be prepared in case of COVID outbreak in future.
