Remote / Work from Home
We’re looking for a Website Developer who can volunteer remotely (from home) for 3 months. Join the Australian Volunteers Program to contribute to sustainable development across Indonesia.
There are a large number of people with autism in Indonesia; most of them not received services ranging from identification, early intervention, treatment and education, including disseminating information to the public about people with autism. Due to the overall numbers of children identified with special needs, the city of Padang's Education Department has developed Unit Pelaksana Teknis Daerah Layanan Disabilitas dan Pendidikan Inklusif (UPTD LDPI). In general, UPTD LDPI aims to provide adequate infrastructure and implement services for school-age children with autism.
The organisation has identified the need to develop their website and database system as tool to engage and provide outreach information and support to the wider community. It is expected that the website will also contain resources for the wider remote community, to allow access to information regarding home treatment and basic therapy. The organisation has been supported by a previous volunteer to develop the website and database system, however at this time, there are still areas for the organisation to learn to be able to capably operate and manage the website and database. There are limited skills available locally and where these skills do exist, they are expensive and currently beyond the means of the centre.
We actively support and encourage people of all backgrounds and abilities to volunteer internationally and aim to make the program as accessible and inclusive as possible. - Find out more.
