We are seeking a passionate, ethical and driven graduate or intern to join our growing team based in Surry Hills, Sydney.
You will be providing support to the local team working across a range of projects throughout Australia, and across business functions including engineering, legal, financial and environmental. Your success in the role will be your ability to work flexibly across the range of projects and functions, being adaptable to the changing needs of the team.
Duties & responsibilities:
- Conducting feasibility studies into new potential wind and solar PV projects, including preliminary engineering assessment and designs
- Providing support to team members on ongoing project management and business development, including conducting site visits, supporting relationship management, and obtaining relevant quotes where necessary
- Assistance in drafting tender responses to a range of opportunities across the Australia and Pacific region
- Following up with relevant stakeholders to ensure projects are completed in an efficient and timely manner
- Assistance with budget follow up and internal reporting
- Renewable energy market research, report writing and review
- GIS mapping and other tasks
- Contributing to the company's overall development strategy in Australia
- Other duties as required, including assisting with company projects - flexibility in this position is vital
Key attributes required:
- Relevant degree in project management, planning and environment, engineering, economics, business, statistics, or another relevant field
- Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills
- Strong belief in sustainable solutions and transition to renewable energy
- Relevant renewable energy engineering skills and an aptitude to learn quickly
- Self-motivated with good time management
- Strong computer literacy, proficient in MS Office
- Proficiency in GIS packages (particularly QGIS); SketchUp, PVSyst, Openwind etc. beneficial
- Professional level of English required, other languages a bonus
- Willingness to learn and enhance skill set
- Good attention to detail and systematic approach to work
- Ability to work both autonomously and as part of a team
- Willingness to attend site visits to project locations
You will need the following:
- Evidence of environmental commitment e.g. volunteering experience or work in relevant industry
- Familiarity with and passionate about renewable energy, including policies on the federal, regional, and state levels
Internship opportunity:
Please note this internship is 6 months full-time commitment (paid).
There is strong potential to join the company following successful completion of the internship. Dates and timeframe of the internship are flexible around university study and other commitments.
