Speech Pathologist (Grade 2) - Caulfield Community Health Service

Department

The Caulfield Community Health Service (CCHS) is co-located on the Caulfield Hospital site, and provides a range of clinical and health promotion services for people of all ages who live, work or study within the local community. These multi-disciplinary services are provided in the centre, community, home or via Telehealth.

Position Summary

The Speech Pathology position will sit within the Adult Health team and you will:

  • Provide assessment and treatment of clients presenting with cognitive, communication and swallowing difficulties, including completion of video fluoroscopies,
  • Provision of both individual and group treatment sessions (e.g. mens communication group)
  • Develop and implement person centred care plans
  • Work within a multi-disciplinary team to ensure a holistic approach to client support
  • Have a sound understanding of, and sensitivity to, the support needs of older people living at home, and their carers/significant others, including diversity of needs
  • Liaise with relevant agencies to coordinate, facilitate and communicate client treatment and outcomes
  • Plan and manage own workload to ensure adequate time for the achievement of primary objectives of the position

Qualifications / Experience Required

  • Degree in Speech Pathology
  • Eligibility for membership of the Speech Pathology Association of Australia
  • Demonstrated knowledge and skills in Speech Pathology within subacute and community settings, including completion of video fluroscopies.
  • Current Victorian drivers licence
