The role:

Our Garden City Muliti Service Centre requires an experienced leisure and lifestyle coordinator with a minimum of 2 years dementia experience to lead out leisure and lifestyle program.

Your main focus will be to design and coordinate tailored 1:1 and group lifestyle recreational activities (including outings & excursions) by considering client needs of dignity and risk such as safety, location, transport, behaviours, spiritual, cultural, dietary, medical, hydration, mobility and personal hygiene.

Client programs are designed in collaboration with clients and their support network as well as management, the allied health team, care staff and other stakeholders to meet client needs, is age appropriate and within allocated budgets.

Our staff promote AQ's organisational values of Social Role Valorisation (SRV) principles and community policies and procedures in a manner that encourages the independence and engagement of clients in valued social roles within the centre and the community.

About you:

  • Minimum 2 years leisure & lifestyle activity coordinator aged care experience within community, disability or residential
  • Exceptional administration skills
  • Management of activity budgets
  • Lifestyle activity programming to client needs
  • Enthusiastic & passionate about providing a caring quality service for the elderly
  • Comply with WHS requirements
  • Sound knowledge of people with dementia
  • Excellent computer skills with Word, Excel & internet search engines

Qualifications:

  • Minimum Cert IV in Leisure & Lifestyle or Diversional Therapy highly desirable
  • Opens Drivers Licence
  • National Police Check
  • NDIS Yellow Card
  • First Aid & CPR Certificate
