Apace is a community-based organisation, focused on local sustainable development, caring for our environment, caring for our people and restoring vegetation and ecosystems.
Apace operates a nursery in North Fremantle, using both paid and volunteer workforce, as well as revegetation contract services, seed collection, training, other sustainable environmental projects and a community garden.
The organisation is at a point of change and will be undergoing a strategic planning process in 2024 to set the direction for the organisation. The Committee of Management (CoM) is recruiting skilled and capable individuals, who are passionate about the environment, to join the CoM and help lead Apace into a new era.
All positions on the CoM will be declared vacant at the AGM (to be held on 14 November 2023) and candidates will be voted in by Apace members. The CoM is seeking nominations to fill the following roles:
The CoM is seeking people who understand and take their obligations as directors seriously, and who are capable of having robust but respectful discussions. People with skills and experience in one or more of the following areas will be highly regarded:
The term of appointment is approximately one year. All positions on the CoM are held on a voluntary basis. Successful appointees will be expected to attend monthly CoM meetings (currently held on the morning of the third Tuesday of each month) and commit approximately 2 days of work per month (depending upon the role).
