Partnerships Manager

The Aurora Group

Looking to utilise your partnership and fundraising skills in one of Australia's fastest growing LGBTQ+ Foundations?

The Partnerships Manager will play a key role in progress towards equality and improved outcomes for LGBTIQ Australians, by increasing the resources that Aurora has to fund LGBTIQ community organisations at the forefront of change. The Partnership Manager will oversee the acquisition, retention and engagement of donors across Australia to agreed targets and identified measures of success.

Working in a small, volunteer-led organisation, the Partnerships Manager is crucial to the successful expansion and growth of the organisation. An exciting opportunity to have a real impact for the LGBTIQ community, by independently leading the implementation of Aurora’s fundraising strategy, the position will be largely self-managing with regular reporting to the Chairperson and Deputy Chairperson.

Whilst this is initially a contract role, Aurora will be looking to convert this role as permanent, contingent upon funding.

Key responsibilities & scope of the role:

  • Identify and develop significant, profitable and mutually beneficial relationships with individual major donors, corporates and foundations across Australia for The Aurora Group.
  • Proactively research larger major gifts, corporate sponsorship and foundation funding opportunities.
  • Develop propositions, communication channels and processes to attract and retain support from individual major donors, corporates and foundations opportunities.
  • Personally develop and steward relationships with partners, utilising all channels within the organisation (events, Direct Marketing etc) to maximise relationship opportunities.
  • Work with stakeholders to identify opportunities across Aurora that would make attractive grant opportunities to individual major donors, corporates and foundations.
  • Gather, maintain and report on all major gift, corporate and foundation activities across the organisation as well as manage database records and the prospect tracker.
  • Develop, manage, track and report on annual income and expenditure budgets with the goal to exceed revenue targets for Aurora.
  • Keep donors and the Aurora Board up to date with progress reports on all projects funded.
  • Submit creatively written grant submissions ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Liaise and develop relationships with the Aurora Trustees, Life Members and HNWI “Aurora Family”.
  • Attend functions and events as required.
  • Assisting in the conduct of other fundraising duties as required.
