About the role

Red Cross Migration Support Programs (MSP) are responsible for coordinating, leading and delivering complex national and local programs. The overall objective is to provide effective and responsive services to people who are vulnerable as a result of migration, such as those separated by war and disaster, refugees, asylum seekers and immigration detainees.

The Case Manager is responsible for the provision of quality case management and community referral services to eligible clients who enter Australia under the Humanitarian Settlement Program. The Case Manager has an overall responsibility for each HSP client’s journey of resettlement in Australia.

What you will bring

  • Demonstrated quality casework and case management skills, especially in a cross-cultural setting.
  • Ability to communicate and apply effective interview techniques to sensitively gain information from clients.
  • Effective communication with a broad range of people (verbal and written) including communication of technical/procedural/ legislative information to clients.
  • Ability to effectively liaise and negotiate services with relevant agencies.
  • Well-developed understanding of refugee and resettlement experience

Mandatory requirements

  • Working with Children Check & Driver Licence 
  • Diploma of Community Services, Bachelor of Social Work or Psychology or equivalent.

This role is covered by the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Award - Level 4. Salary from $ $82,063.28 FTE + superannuation + access to salary packaging.
