Our Volunteering for Change Program is an evidenced-based Community Based Health and First Aid Program that is internationally recognised by the World Health Organisation.
Our Program has been tailored to the Tasmanian context and is funded by the Tasmanian Government for pilot period of 3 years.
Be responsible for the effective coordination, operational management and delivery of the Volunteering for Change Program and know the work you do will have a positive impact.
Working with prison communities and in collaboration with prisoner volunteer participants, prison staff and broader stakeholders, you will identify projects that support prisoner-led community development initiatives. The program delivers skills and training such as life skills, first aid and mental health first aid; along with cultural competency training.
You will work alongside an identified First Nations team member, who provides cultural advice, experience and guidance to support Frist Nations Peoples and our justice work. As a member of the Justice team you will also contribute to our greater portfolio of work and programs.
Note - this position is subject to the successful applicant obtaining and maintaining a Government Security Clearance/Pass issued by the Tasmanian Prison Service & requires a Drivers Licence.
This role is covered by the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Award - Level 4. Salary from $82,063.28 FTE + superannuation + salary packaging.
