About the role

Red Cross equips communities to anticipate, respond to, and recover from disasters. Taking a psychosocial support approach to emergency management, we provide resources, services, expertise and humanitarian advocacy and influence to support and strengthen the capacity of individuals and communities in need.

In this role you will support communities to prepare for, respond to and recover well from disasters using a community development approach to build local partnerships, and support the delivery of programs and projects to build community resilience.

What you will bring

  • Sound knowledge of community engagement and/or community development
  • Experience in successfully delivering project or program outcomes
  • An understanding of supporting communities before, during, or after a disaster
  • Sound analytical skills and demonstrated ability to assess, evaluate and solve problems
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to coach and develop both individuals and teams
  • Working with vulnerable people check
  • Drivers License

Annual salary from $82,063.28 FTE + superannuation + access to salary packaging.
