The Australian Clinical Trials Alliance (ACTA) is the national peak body for clinical trials networks, coordinating centres and clinical quality registries conducting investigator-initiated clinical trials. Informed by our Better health through best evidence vision, ACTA promotes effective and value-based healthcare by supporting clinical trials networks and clinical quality registries that generate evidence to inform decisions made by clinicians, policymakers, and patients.

ACTA is funded through memberships and through our extensive member network we engage with more than 10,000 clinicians and researchers.

THE ROLE

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer you will engage ACTA member Clinical Trial Networks and Coordinating Centres to support the Australian Teletrial Program implementation nationally. You will provide authoritative, strategic advice on the development and implementation of teletrials and expert advice on the research and ethics governance framework. You will ensure that policies and procedures enabling the uptake of teletrials are documented and designed collaboratively with various stakeholders and in compliance with the National Clinical Trials Governance Framework.

This role will involve delivering presentations on teletrials and the ACTA teletrial project to ACTA member Clinical Trial Networks and Coordinating Centres and you will be responsible for both convening a project working group and organising a series of workshops on teletrials.

Additionally, you will develop key strategies related to teletrials that build leadership, capacity and capability in clinical trials. You will work closely with jurisdictional Regional Clinical Trial Coordinating Centres (RCCCs) and the Australian Teletrial Program National Office to ensure that the ACTA teletrial project deliverables are supported strategically to ensure program success.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

The role will support delivery of ACTA’s teletrial project, which is a national component of the Queensland Health led Australian Teletrial Program which aims to improve access to clinical trials for those in rural, remote and regional areas.

You will bring expertise in clinical trial operations and management and will have the ability to function as a research management and clinical trials resource. You will also be able to provide high-level advice to various stakeholders develop their understanding of clinical trials and teletrials. You may have experience in policy or in clinical trial protocol analysis, writing, implementation and evaluation. You will be able to work autonomously, meet deadlines, establish priorities and work as an effective member of our team to successfully contribute to organisational objectives.

Teletrials experience is desired but not essential.
