About the role

The Injury Management Advisor is responsible for managing the return to work of colleagues and supporting injury management in accordance with legislative and organisation requirements to deliver an early and safe return to work following injury or illness both work and non-work related.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide timely advice and information to support colleagues, supervisors, leads and managers on health and wellbeing matters to support the implementation of Avivo programs and initiatives to ensure compliance with injury management responsibilities, and legislative requirements.
  • Coordinate medical appointments to obtain urgent medical attention and evidence based early intervention for injured colleagues.
  • Attend workers compensation conciliation meetings, hearings, and tribunals in consultation with Insurer's legal representatives.
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with key internal and external stakeholders to facilitate service delivery and improve injury management outcomes, including collaborating with teams to effectively manage return to work cases and participation in claims reviews.
  • Effectively and efficiently manage a caseload of work and non-work-related injury management cases and report on performance.
  • Prepare accurate and timely reports, submissions, and responses to relevant correspondence with regard to injury management and return to work.
  • Provide training and education to colleagues on early intervention injury management, return to work and workers compensation.

About you

You are an experienced allied health professional with excellent knowledge in developing, implementing, and monitoring return to work plans and strategies to facilitate colleagues early and safe return to work. You are a subject matter expert in compliance with relevant work health and safety, workers compensation and injury management legislation. To be successful in this role you'll need:

  • Tertiary qualification in Allied Health - Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Exercise Physiology or similar
  • Workers Compensation / Injury Management Coordinators course certificate WA (desirable)
  • Sound knowledge of relevant legislation and best practice
  • Experience managing workers compensation within a large organisation
  • Competent using Microsoft programs and IS databases like Aurion, Solv Safety and Solv Injury
  • Excellent communication skills including verbal, written, and listening
  • Ability to problem solve, think creatively, and find innovative solutions

Pay and benefits

  • A salary of $87,706 - $90,335 per annum plus super

  • A valid c class driver's licence (essential)
