The Community Transport Driver is responsible for the delivery of a flexible, reliable and responsive "door to door" Transport services. You will operate within the CRCS Transport Safety Management Systems ensuring the delivery of a person centred, high quality and safe Community Transport Service.

Capital Region Community Services (CRCS) provides a wide range of high quality, integrated and inclusive programs and services to individuals, families, children and young people in the Belconnen and wider Capital Region. CRCS works with community members, local organisations and businesses to develop responsive programs, services and activities that support self determination and reduce social isolation. About the role
The ideal candidates will deliver exceptional services to our participants in the community, you will be required to work in situations which require a degree of flexibility, empathy and problem solving and will be expected to provide physical support to individuals as required. This role also requires you to:
- Possess the personal attributes of optimism, resilience and flexibility.
- Knowledge and awareness of community needs the principles of cultural diversity and issues including those from minority groups.
- Exemplary driving record and safe driving skills.
- Ability to physically assist people in/out of the vehicle and safely load and unload wheelchairs and walking frames.
- Good organisational skills with a flexible approach and a proven record of reliability and punctuality.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to demonstrate empathy and understanding to individuals.
- Ability to work to established work practices and as an effective team member.
- Sound knowledge of the Canberra region and the ACT road system.
- Ability to uphold the principles of cultural diversity and a strong commitment to equal access and inclusion principles.
To be successful, you will have:
- HR Drivers Licence with Condition “O”.
- Knowledge of CRCS and other service providers within ACT.
- High level knowledge of the community sector.
- Knowledge of the ACT road network.
- Strong understanding of the Australian Road Rules.
- Understanding of Work Health Safety and your safety obligations.
- Holds a Current Driver's licence and has demonstrated a safe and responsible driving record.
CRCS also requires all employees to:
- Hold or be willing to obtain a satisfactory Working with Vulnerable People registration (ACT) and/or a Working with Children Check (NSW), and have these with them at all times whilst employed by CRCS.
- Undertake a National Criminal History Clearance by CRCS prior to commencing and every three years thereafter as a condition of employment. Employees are required to advise CRCS of any convictions that may effect their eligibility to work or perform the inherent requirements of their position
- Maintain full COVID-19 vaccination currency and provide evidence of their vaccinations to CRCS (sensitive information is kept private and in accordance with the Australian Privacy Principles) unless they are able to provide suitable evidence of a medical contraindication that prevents them from receiving this vaccine.
