About BDS Support Services

BDS Support Services (formerly Broadmeadows Disability Services) is a community-based not-for-profit organisation and registered NDIS provider, governed by a voluntary Board of Directors and led by an experienced and dynamic Chief Executive Officer.

At BDS we ensure our clients are supported to engage in active learning opportunities, life skills development and a range of community-based social and recreational activities. We provide support in group and centre-based activities, as well as individual supports in the home and/or community.

We are deeply committed to providing tailored supports that help people with disabilities to Belong, Develop, and Succeed. We believe passionately in the principles of Choice and Control for people with disabilities, which are the foundation upon which the NDIS was created.

It’s a great thing to have on your LinkedIn profile!

Opportunities

We currently have several vacancies on our Board and are seeking committed purpose-driven individuals who are willing to dedicate their time and skills as a volunteer Board Director. There is no single profile for a Board Director. Rather, diversity strengthens our governance and insights. You may bring any or all of the following:

  • lived experience of disability
  • exposure to the NDIS
  • professional experience in the disability sector
  • commercial experience in management, finance, marketing, quality management, audit, business development, risk, technology, or any other relevant fields

The Board and CEO meet monthly for approximately 2 hours and an Annual General Meeting (AGM) is held each year to allow financial members of the organisation to discuss and vote on Board membership and other business matters.

As a Board Director, some time will be required to read and process materials prior to each Board meeting. Board members are also encouraged to join a sub-committee related to their experience, please consider the additional commitment of time this may entail.

Make a positive difference in your own life and the lives of others by becoming a Board Director of this great organisation.
