Bayside City Council is on an exciting journey to mature all aspects of occupational health, safety and wellbeing across our organisation. To support this journey, we are looking for a contemporary safety professional to ensure the continuity of our ‘business as usual’ safety activities, in addition to supporting the Workplace Health, Safety and Wellbeing Lead execute our progressive safety and wellbeing strategy. This will require utilisation of your existing skills across health, safety and wellbeing whilst assisting with the coordination and implementation of a myriad of new and exciting safety and risk reduction initiatives.
Working in a small but dedicated safety team, this role requires a strong focus on collaboration with key stakeholders across all Council divisions - promoting a culture of safety that supports and enables our people leaders to identify and mitigate hazards and ensure continuous safety improvement. With a hands-on focus and a ‘can do’ attitude, you’ll be provided with plentiful opportunities to demonstrate your existing expertise and be empowered to further develop areas of interest and proficiency that jointly benefits the organisations safety management system and dynamic risk profile.
Based out of the Council's Corporate Centre in Sandringham, the position extends to other staffed sites across the beautiful Bayside Municipality, including our Libraries.
