About the role

This is a leadership role which manages and develops a team of psychologists to deliver psychological services to the community across a range of government programs as well as private fee-for-service clients. The role is expected to role model best practice with an active case load balanced by the management of programs, including program evaluation, reporting and acquittals of the various contracted programs.

Programs of note include Commonwealth service contracts for alcohol and other drugs counselling and Queensland State family counselling. The role also drives the development of new programs, implementation and evaluation.

This is a role which has a significant staff development component as it is expected to provide professional supervision and peer support while establishing effective and professional practice standards in clinical work, records management that meet both organisational and APHRA standards as well co-ordinate professional development and continuous improvement activities.

Qualifications:

• APHRA Psychologist General Registration.
• Desirable: Approved or eligible for approval as a Psychology Board of Australia Supervisor.
• Queensland C-Class Driver License with no restrictions.
• Covid-19 Vaccination compliant (up-to-date vaccination, digital certificate required).

Skills and experience

• At least five years' counselling and psychological intervention experience.
• Demonstrated experience in clinical leadership and provision of supervision to meet APHRA requirements.
• Demonstrated competency and experience in therapies related to alcohol and other drugs and families counselling.
• Commitment to evidence-based therapies and continued professional development.
• Experience in EAP counselling is desirable.
