Purpose of Role
The purpose of the role is to contribute to the delivery of The GRIT Report: Shoalhaven through a youth lens project.
Using multi-modal methods including film, podcast and traditional cultural techniques, you will assist a team of producers, community artists and young people to generate new and exciting art. You will work with the team to support young people to engage and remain engaged with the project.
You will provide assistance to the team to compile and showcase the work created through the project to build an asset map demonstrating the Shoalhaven’s strengths and challenges from the perspective of young people. You will support the distribution of the report to relevant stakeholders and champion it as a resource to be used to advocate for resources to support young people.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities
Financial and Administration Management
- Contribute to maintenance of budgets for programs and general business, within the area of responsibility;
- Ensure adherence to specific contractual arrangements in regards to all income and expenses (third party partners, suppliers / artists etc.), within the area of responsibility;
- Ensure all administration tasks are completed in an accurate and timely manner;
- Reconcile and submit personal expenses records and credit card statements, including all supporting documentation (i.e. receipts), on a monthly basis;
- Keep abreast of applicable legislation, where applicable, to ensure compliance.
Community and Social Responsibility – (Relationships /Interactions/Partnerships)
- Assist in raising awareness of the company’s commitment to the community and our social responsibility;
- Proactively build relationships with partner organisations and assist in the implementation and coordination of a range of activities and initiatives which are designed to have a positive impact on the environment and the communities in which we work;
- Maintain a culture of inclusion and diversity.
- Support the development and delivery of the strategies that supports community engagement, investment, including community partnerships, employees’ initiatives and stakeholder initiatives.
- Contribute to evaluation of programs using methods prescribed by BE and/or required by contractual agreements with funding bodies.
- Contribute to evidence gathering from projects to improve and refine projects and develop an evidence base for continued best-practise work methods.
- Maintain and contribute to child-safe policy and practices, including mandatory reporting in line with legislative requirements.

Work Health, Safety and Environment

- ‘Program Accountability Matrix’ will be issued when taking on varied responsibilities for an event/program/function or similar.
Working Environment
- Work will be performed in your home office and/or a company allocated offices, although field visits will be required;
- Travel will be required to meet the needs of the business; and
- Flexible work hours will be required to meet work/project deadlines or the needs of the business.
Selection Criteria
Essential:
- A certificate IV or higher qualification in Youth Work, Social Work or a related discipline
- Experience working with young people aged 12 – 25 using a youth-led approach.
- Excellent communication skills and proven ability to engage with young people facing complex challenges, disadvantage and/or isolation.
- Experience using trauma-informed practice to inform your work with young people
- Experience and competency working with young people from culturally diverse backgrounds
- Class C drivers license
- Current Working with Children Check (WWCC) and willingness to undergo a National Police Criminal History check
Desirable:
- Knowledge of the Arts Industry
- Demonstrated experience working on youth-led community art projects
- Established connections and networks within the local community including with local first nations communities.
- Experience in making and sharing creative content
