We collect, process and distribute life-saving blood products, breastmilk and more. Everyone at the Blood Service makes a valued contribution to this life-saving work. We promote an inclusive work environment and welcome applications from all people.
This role is an exciting full time, fixed term opportunity to join the Donor Research team as a Research Fellow. The Donor Research team applies behavioural and social science theory and methods to describe, predict, and influence blood donation behaviour, and to optimise the health and wellbeing of blood donors.
Our team members are experts in psychology, sociology, public health, epidemiology and marketing, who produce high quality evidence about the behaviour and wellbeing of blood donors using both exploratory and interventional research approaches. The work of the Donor Research team is critical to ensuring a continued blood supply for Australia and we deliver leading edge research that translates into business practice and improves outcomes for blood donors, while expanding academic knowledge about blood donation.
As part of this productive and motivated team, the successful candidate will work with the National Donor Research Manager to provide research leadership across several existing projects, while developing new research directions for the program. These projects will focus on the design and evaluation of interventions to increase blood donation.
This is an ideal role for a researcher who wishes to apply their substantial research expertise in quantitative research methods and experimental/clinical trial design in a highly applied setting, where research findings can be readily translated into meaningful outcomes, in addition to traditional academic outputs. The Research Fellow will work in close consultation with our business partners, and provide consultation on issues related to blood donation behaviour
