Brainwave Bikes is looking for an outstanding workshop leader and head mechanic to play a key role in a growing bike business supported by Mercedes-Benz, 99 Bikes, Cleanaway and WISE Employment.
Brainwave was founded in 1994 to provide practical support and care to children impacted by neurological conditions and their families. Brain injury and illness change people’s lives and futures. We are here for the whole family from the point of diagnosis onwards. With the support of Mercedes-Benz Australia, Brainwave has established Brainwave Bikes, a social enterprise that receives, refurbishes, and retails donated used bikes, especially children’s bikes. We operate out of a 750sqm showroom in Dingley Village, near Moorabbin DFO, with a target to sell at least 5,000 bikes per year.
The primary purpose of the workshop leader is to oversee all mechanical operations of Brainwave Bikes. To take ownership of the workshop and tools and assist the team in the day-to-day running of bicycle repairs and workflow. You will procure and manage the inventory of new and secondhand parts and will help to categorise bicycles and bike parts to store them in the most efficient way. You will ensure that every bike sold is a quality serviced product with customer satisfaction of high importance and value, as well as train, schedule and mentor a team of paid and volunteer mechanics and other bike work.
