About the role

Maximise the accessibility and actionability of PHN data and use your technical skills to make a difference in primary health care. The Data Analyst position supports the PHN in ingesting, analysing and reporting on a range of large datasets – both for mandatory reporting purposes and for insight generation. A key aspect of the role is to transform PHN data into accessible dashboards for the organisation to engage with.

Key duties and responsibilities

  • develop and maintain BI dashboard reports and provide staff with ongoing support including presenting at relevant meetings as required
  • support the organisation with uploading and reporting data sets to funding bodies
  • provide support and training for our internal information systems across all levels of the organisation
  • attend and contribute productively to meetings with key stakeholders and other PHN related meetings as required
  • provide high quality population health research and analytical support to the PHN, including maintaining a register of external data sources, and ingesting these as BI where relevant
  • Experience in the analysis of complex data sets and the ability to produce effective and accessible dashboards

Qualifications and Experience

  • qualification in report writing or equivalent professional experience
  • proven experience in delivering BI solutions
  • strong T-SQL skills and experience in Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio
  • excellent Power BI skills, including knowledge of data modelling, DAX, Power Query, report design and visualisation.
  • solid understanding of the Microsoft’s Power Platform, experience in either Power Apps or Power Automate is beneficial
  • understanding of technical processes such as ETL frameworks and data warehousing principles
  • proven experience to communicate effectively to diverse audiences, both technical and business
  • demonstrated ability to train staff of all capabilities clearly and concisely
  • knowledge of the primary healthcare industry or ability to acquire that knowledge quickly is highly desirable.
