  • Flexible Location

Bush Heritage Australia, a national leader in landscape-scale conservation, is seeking an Assets and Procurement Program Leader

Bush Heritage Australia is a national leader in landscape-scale conservation. Independent and evidence-based, we work where we are needed most: in areas of high conservation value with low levels of protection. We protect and help manage 11.3 million hectares of land, providing habitat for over 6359 native species, including at least 243 threatened species. We have two proven approaches to what we do: we carefully select, purchase and manage landscapes of high conservation value; and we work in partnership with others, including Traditional Owners, to achieve conservation outcomes.

About the role:

This newly created role will establish and lead an organisation-wide asset management program, focused on buildings, plant, equipment and vehicles located across rural and remote Australia. The successful applicant will work directly with our field-based and head office teams to support the maintenance of operational assets in a safe and secure manner and to support strategies for insurance, further investment and retirement. The role will also support improved environmental and social sustainability outcomes for our operations in line with our Sustainability Action Plan and will ensure our procurement of goods and services meets the values of sustainability, probity and value for money.

What you'll need to succeed:

  • Significant experience in an asset management role and ideally also in a procurement role
  • Demonstrated experience in the use of asset management systems
  • Well-developed organisational and planning skills
  • Ability to meet deadlines, work under pressure, be flexible and responsive
  • High level interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills with the capacity to communicate with a wide range of stakeholders
  • Experience or a demonstrated interest in advancing environmental and/or social sustainability of company operations via asset management and procurement practices will be highly regarded
