We are looking for:

Byron Shire Council is currently seeking a dynamic, adaptive Backbone Lead for the Ending Rough Sleeping Byron Shire Collaboration – a place-based, community-led Collective Impact initiative that aims to reduce and end rough sleeping and homelessness in Byron Shire. The role leads a small Backbone Team and is responsible for the strategic development of the collaboration, including building relationships with partners across local, national and international contexts to progress the initiative from early to mid-phase outcomes. The role also provides support and leadership to the Homelessness team.

About you: 

  • Tertiary qualifications in social sciences, community services or related discipline and demonstrated experience.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills in a collective impact or collaborative, systems change setting. 
  • Demonstrated excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders such as community members, including people with lived experience of homelessness, external organisations, staff, management and elected representatives.
  • Demonstrated advanced skills in program design and evaluation, project management, and quality improvement with the ability to meet agreed deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

We offer: 

  • A term role until August 2025, part-time position (28 hours per week, and fewer if preferred for the right candidate). Please note this engagement is pending receipt of funding (anticipated February 2024).

  • Salary and Conditions will be in accordance with the NSW Local Government (State) Award with an appointment at a salary at Grade 11 in the range of $1,878.98 to $2,177.08 per 35 hour week (dependent upon skills and experience)

Location: 

This position is based at Mullumbimby however Council can require you to work from other work sites as required for operational reasons.
