About the role

Colac Area Health is seeking a dynamic and contemporary leader in Community Health to join our team. 

Being a team player, this role is required to provide strategic leadership and operational management across the Community Health directorate. The Executive Director Community Health (EDCH) will work collaboratively with executive colleagues to provide an efficient and effective service across the continuum of care. In partnership with key stakeholders, the role will lead the development of contemporary models of care to deliver a high quality service, meeting identified targets within funded activity.

Key Selection Criteria

Essential

  • Tertiary level qualifications in an Allied Health or Nursing discipline and post- graduate qualifications in management, Post graduate qualifications in health administration, business or quality management (or similar), or substantial and current experience in a senior management role in the health
  • A thorough understanding of the public health industry, public hospital management and comprehensive knowledge of program funding streams and services

Desirable

  • Highly developed interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills
  • Highly developed skills in informing budget build; managing, identifying, analysing and taking corrective actions taken of toward budget variations
  • Demonstrated skills in executive leadership, change management and people management and development through an executive level role
  • Extensive understanding of the principles of quality, safety and risk management
  • High level of capability to write or organise the development of submissions, reports and reviews succinctly to ensure key information is conveyed to Board, DHHS and governance partners
  • Proven executive level leadership of a Primary and Community Services program across integrated services including experience in developing and maintaining collaborative partnerships and stakeholder relationships both internally and& externally (e.g. with members of Executive, staff, volunteers, com
  • Demonstrated experience in working with an executive leadership team to create a vision and to engage with and inspire the workforce to create sustainable positive organisational culture change
  • Demonstrated strong values driven leadership skills with a commitment to working collaboratively to achieve agreed organisational vision and objectives utilising an evidence based quality approach
  • Substantial exposure to Employee and Industrial Relations with knowledge of relevant awards and health industrial relations processes, ensuring compliance with all required legislation, awards and EBAs
