About us:

Community Information Support Victoria (CISVic) is the peak body for the community information and support sector. We are a not-for-profit agency providing advocacy and representation, sector development and operational support to our member agencies. Our local centres assist people experiencing personal and financial hardship by providing information, referral, advocacy and support services including Emergency Relief.

CISVic has been granted $2.1 million from the State Department of Jobs, Precincts and Region's Working for Victoria fund and we are continuing to recruit a number of Case Workers to work across various Melbourne locations (Coburg, Boronia, Hampton East, Camberwell).

The roles:

Complementing the work of the Community Support Workers, our Case Workers will provide generalist short-to-medium term intensive support to people experiencing complex issues, to build personal and financial resilience. The key responsibilities can be summarised as below:

  • Undertake holistic assessments and develop case plans in partnership with clients
  • Support the broader work of the local centre to deliver information, referral, advocacy and support services including emergency relief
  • Develop collaborative networks and partnerships with external services
  • Maintain accurate records in various platforms including the client management system
  • Actively participate in team meetings, activities and professional development to contribute to the overall effectiveness and success of the team
  • Deliver services in line with the Code of Ethics, policies, procedures and funding contracts of the organisation
  • Contribute to maintaining a welcoming and supporting environment for volunteers and clients

Our ideal candidate:

To be considered for these roles workers will require a relevant welfare qualification and demonstrated experience working within a case work framework of support.

Applicants must have an understanding of structural poverty, the issues affecting people in personal and financial hardship, and the provision of social and emergency relief services in Australia.

These are full-time positions paid at the SCHCADS Award classification 4.3. These are 6 month contract opportunities and we're seeking an immediate start. Positions are currently available at the following locations - Coburg, Boronia, Hampton East and Camberwell.
