The Carlton Neighbourhood Learning Centre (CNLC) is a vibrant community centre where people come together to participate in a range of social, educational and recreational programs.

Reporting to the Executive Officer, you will be responsible for all aspects of our Adult Education programs at CNLC.
Adult Education programs at CNLC include accredited and pre-accredited courses in Adult Literacy & Basic Education, English as an Additional Language (EAL), and Computer Skills.
In addition to developing, facilitating, and evaluating our Adult Education programs, you will also ensure these programs comply with all contractual and regulatory requirements and align with the CNLC Strategic Plan.
The Adult Education Manager is part of CNLC’s Senior Management team and contributes to the strategic direction and policies of CNLC.
The Adult Education Manager will work from our Princes Street site, with responsibility to oversee programs delivered in external locations.
There is an opportunity to split this role into a 3 day a week Adult Education Manager role and a 2 day a week Compliance Manager role.

An Assistant Adult Education Manager is employed to provide assistance to the role and cover during leave.
You are motivated by supporting people, particular migrants and refugees, to learn English and create life opportunities and pathways to further education or employment.
You like working collaboratively and have exceptional communication, delegation, and organisational skills. You can connect and relate to a diverse range of people and have experience in adult education.

A minimum qualification of Certificate IV in Training and Assessment – TAFE 40116 or equivalent is required.
Qualifications in adult education or equivalent combination of education qualifications and adult education experience will be well regarded [this is not required for those only interested in the Compliance Manager role].
In addition to the selection criteria identified above applicants must have the following:
Police Check, Fit and Proper Persons Check, Working with Children Check.
The position is ongoing, classified and remunerated under the Neighbourhood Houses and Adult Community Education Centres Collective Agreement 2016, Schedule 3A: Adult Community Education Employees at Level 9. Superannuation will be paid according to the Agreement.
Hours per week:
Full-time - 38 hours (we are open to splitting the role into two part-time positions).
The Adult Education Manager role and responsibilities requires occasional weekend and evening work.
We are a flexible workplace and working from home 1 day a week is an option.
