About Kerri (Mother):

Kerri is 49 and has type 1 diabetes and recently became an above-knee amputee on one side. She loves crafts and shopping.

About Chantelle (Daughter):

Chantelle is 26 and has Dejerine-Sottas disease. She uses a motorised wheelchair, a v-pap machine to assist with breathing, and a hoist to transfer. She has a diploma in 3D animation, loves cosplay and animals.

We live together with our 2 cats (Phoebe and Nala) and 2 small dogs (Stitch and Winnie), we are both massive Disney fans. We both need support workers to assist us. We first started employing support workers back in 2014 under a WPN, we have been hiring employees with an ABN since early 2022.

About us and the business:

We are able to employ people as an employee (we as the employer pay tax and super and have insurance) or if the candidate prefers we can hire as a contractors/sole traders (they must have their own ABN, pay own tax and insurances).

We do monthly rosters and work with our teams availability and preferences as much as possible.

Our team usually alternate weekends so everyone gets family/free time on weekends.

Tasks/Duties:

• Hoist transfer
• Personal hygiene
• Domestic duties (cooking, cleaning, etc.)
• Community access (driving our van)
• Assistance with caring for our pets

Requirements:

• Minimum Certificate 3 in Disability, Aged Care, or Individual Support or Nursing, paramedic, allied health Student
• Valid Drivers License
• Reliable Car
• Blue card, Yellow card, and/or a Criminal History Check

Shift Times:

These shift times do occasionally change on the roster to suit community access.

• Morning: 6am-12pm
• Midday: 7am-3pm
• Evening: 12pm-9pm
• Night: 9pm-6am (these are active awake shifts)

Rates:

We pay the award rate for Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award (MA000100), Social and community services employee level 2 - pay point 1.

• $42.64 night 12am-6am
• $53.31 Saturday
• $68.54 Sunday
• $83.77 public holiday
