CFN is an NDIS provider for people living with a disability. CFN is located at Caboolture. We are looking for a Permanent Disability Support Worker to fill roles in our short-term accommodation home (centre-based respite).

We are currently looking for a part-time Support Worker to oversee our Short-Term Centre-based respite home and provide support to our guests from 6pm – 10pm, followed by a sleepover shift 10pm – 6am; and a shift from 6am – 9.30am. You will need to work 2 - 4 shifts per week including weekends. Flexibility to cover other shifts and help where needed will be well-regarded.

To be successful, you will ideally have experience in disability; proven ability to deliver support professionally and sensitively to our guests who stay at our centre-based respite. The ability to work independently on your own is essential. It is a genuine occupational requirement of this role to be female. You must have a positive approach as this is critical to your role. As well as the ability to think outside the box, be engaging and a willingness to learn.

Position Responsibilities

  • Assistance with daily living tasks such as personal care, preparation of meals and other general household tasks.
  • Respond to the guest’s needs and collaborate positively with their families, support people and others in their lives.
  • Participate in daily reporting and administration (medication charts etc), report any observed changes to guest’s health and incidents.
  • Promote independence, give choice, encourage inclusiveness, and respect the rights and privacy of an individual with a disability through planning and creating opportunities.
  • Balance your Duty of Care with the right of the participant working within the context of their ability.
  • Work within the NDIS Code of Conduct.
  • Work with the team to ensure quality and continuity of care.
  • Be proactive to continually educate yourself on the specific needs of participants and conditions.

You will need to have:

  • Disability Experience is essential
  • The right to work in Australia
  • Relevant work experience
  • Current first aid and CPR certificate
  • A Positive Notice Blue Card (Working with Children Check)
  • Disability Services Positive Exemption Notice (Yellow) Card (or willing to obtain) or National Disability Worker Screening Clearance
  • An open Automatic Drivers Licence
  • A clean and tidy reliable car with comprehensive insurance
  • A strong work ethic, a positive outlook, and the ability to remain calm and professional while under pressure
  • A caring and empathetic nature
  • Completed the NDIS worker orientation module https://www.ndiscommission.gov.au/workers/training-course

Rate of Pay - CFN pay is based on the SCHADDS Industry Award 2010 based on your qualifications and experience.
