Canteen is a national support organisation for 12 - 25-year-olds who cope with cancer in their family. Through Canteen, they learn to explore and deal with feelings about cancer, connect with other young people in the same boat and if they have been diagnosed themselves, we also provide specialist, youth-specific treatment teams. The Role

Your role as Customer Service Officer, or Supporter Care Officer as we like to name the position at Canteen, will be based in a call centre fundraising environment where you will be tasked with maintaining high quality relationships with Canteen’s donors.

The Customer Service Officer will be responsible for the provision of high levels of customer service and the ability to identify retention and fundraising opportunities of donors. Inbound and outbound call and email handling across all fundraising portfolios, complaint handling, donation processing and accurate updating of donors information in Canteen’s system(s).

This is a fast-paced role speaking to new and existing Canteen donors, with the added advantages of working in a great team environment while also having the opportunity to play a pivotal role in Canteen’s journey to support young people and their families whose lives have been impacted by cancer.

About You

  • Superior customer service & retention skills essential
  • Experience in an Inbound/Outbound Call Centre highly desirable
  • Fundraising skills preferred
  • Resilient nature and comfortable with asking supporters for donations essential
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent database and data entry skills with strong attention to detail
  • Team player with the ability to build internal and external relationships with ease.
  • Good computer skills, especially MS Office and familiarity with databases like Salesforce

  • Location: West End, Brisbane: (Hybrid -combination of remote and in-office work)
  • Job type: Permanent, full time
  • Hours of work: 37.5 hours p/w
