Just when life should be full of possibilities, cancer crashes into a young person’s world and shatters everything. Cancer pushes them back in to the nest, makes them grow up too fast and weighs them down with worries they are not supposed to have yet. Canteen is a game changer.
Canteen is a national support organisation for 12 - 25-year-olds who cope with cancer in their family. Through Canteen, they learn to explore and deal with feelings about cancer, connect with other young people in the same boat and if they have been diagnosed themselves, we also provide specialist, youth-specific treatment teams. Working for Canteen is a chance to support young people rebuilding the foundations that crumbled beneath them when cancer turned their world upside down.
Your role as Customer Service Officer, or Supporter Care Officer as we like to name the position at Canteen, will be based in a call centre fundraising environment where you will be tasked with maintaining high quality relationships with Canteen’s donors.
The Customer Service Officer will be responsible for the provision of high levels of customer service and the ability to identify retention and fundraising opportunities of donors. Inbound and outbound call and email handling across all fundraising portfolios, complaint handling, donation processing and accurate updating of donors information in Canteen’s system(s).
This is a fast-paced role speaking to new and existing Canteen donors, with the added advantages of working in a great team environment while also having the opportunity to play a pivotal role in Canteen’s journey to support young people and their families whose lives have been impacted by cancer.
Application Info: Applications close on the advertised date; however first round reviews of applications will occur periodically during this period so do not delay in applying.
Please submit a cover letter outlining your relevant experience in line with the Customer Service Officer role and be sure to include why you would like to join the Canteen family.
Only applicants selected for interview will be contacted and must be prepared if successful to undergo a National Police Check and Working with Children Check. As an Allied Health organisation, Canteen employees are required to have received two doses of an approved COVID-19 vaccine. These requirements are essential to gain employment with Canteen and your vaccination status will be discussed as part of the recruitment and selection process.
