The Role

We're looking for a professional content creator who can independently create compelling content that will drive engagement across Canteen's digital channels, with a particular focus on our social media communications.

You will work with internal stakeholders to identify content needs and use your own content and video creation, image and video editing and design capabilities - combined with excellent written communication skills - to create or repurpose content in a range of formats.

Within the Marketing & Communications team, you will use excellent proof-reading skills to review content created by other teams - such as our fundraising colleagues - to ensure their messaging is on brand to support our content creation and other projects

This role will be critical to the success of Canteen's marketing and content strategy, the success of Canteen's external communication channels, including our website and YouTube channel and the performance of our social media communications.

Selection Criteria

  • Relevant tertiary qualification in communications, video editing, marketing or similar
  • 3+ years experience in a similar role
  • Demonstrated ability to independently create high quality and engaging video, image and text-based content
  • Excellent written communication and proof-reading skills alongside a strong attention to detail
  • Social media ideation, planning and implementation as well as community management
  • Strong understanding of the key social media platforms including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube and TikTok and experience developing and scheduling content across these platforms
  • Script development and editing video content for a range of purposes
  • Advanced Photoshop or Canva skills
  • Genuine desire to work for Canteen and with young people

Remuneration: $75,000-$80,000 + Salary Packaging + Super + Employee Benefits

Due to the nature of Canteen’s work, you will be required to (very) occasionally work weekends and evenings. Advance notice will be given when this is the case, and Canteen does have a Time off in Lieu policy for taking leave as agreed with the supervising manager.

  • As Canteen’s work involves employees being in direct contact with children and young people, employees are required to complete police and working with children checks, relevant to the State in which they will be employed.
  • Only applicants selected for an interview will be contacted and must be prepared if successful to undergo a National Police Check and Working with Children Check.
  • Canteen employees are encouraged to have received the recommended doses of an approved COVID-19 vaccine.
  • Canteen will conduct at least two reference checks on successful applicants and will also require proof of any professional qualifications stated on an application.
