Cancer Trials Australia (CTA) is a not-for- profit member-based organisation consisting of 34 clinical sites and 3 medical research institutes across Australia and New Zealand. We support the administration and management of clinical trials across both metropolitan and regional hospitals. About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated individual to join the Information Systems team to assist with the development and implementation of CTA’s cybersecurity framework (CIS Critical Security Controls) and support CTA’s cybersecurity maturity and growth. This role will involve reviewing and building on an existing analysis, to document and develop internal work practice guidelines and policies and procedures that will form the governance of CTA’s cybersecurity framework, connecting people, process and technology.

This role requires an individual who enjoys documenting and writing policies and procedures, independently plan and prioritise work activities. This role also requires a proactive approach to cybersecurity education and training, with a commitment to building a robust cybersecurity culture.

In this role you will:

  • Document and develop governance, risk and compliance activities, by utilising existing analyses and internal documentation, to establish measures and controls that meet the selected audit framework in addition to other relevant industry guidelines.
  • Develop cybersecurity policies and procedures for asset and inventory management, data lifecycle, data protection, recovery plans, log management, account management and incident management response, supporting CTA’s cybersecurity maturity.
  • Identify cybersecurity risks within existing practices and policies and develop appropriate mitigation strategies to reduce internal weakness, vulnerabilities and threats.
  • Monitor the implementation of security policies and guidelines, providing recommendations for ongoing improvement.
  • Assist in the development and delivery of education and training activities to educate all staff on new policies, procedures and security practices, ensuring staff understand their cybersecurity responsibilities.

About You

You will demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills to clearly and concisely document and develop Cybersecurity policies and procedures, nurture positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders, whilst maintaining a team focused, professional and proactive approach in all activities.

Minimum requirements include:

  • Tertiary level qualification (can be working toward completion) in Cybersecurity, Information Technology or other related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Knowledge of Cybersecurity frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001) and standards.
  • Understanding of network security, threat assessment, and risk management concepts.
  • Ability to clearly and concisely document and develop Cybersecurity policies and procedures.
