EnergyLab is Australia's largest climate tech and energy startup accelerator and innovation network dedicated to reaching net zero emissions. We run programs, coworking spaces, events and an angel investment network in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane to support startups working on business models, tech and solutions that will decarbonise the economy.
About the Role
The Program Lead, Scaleup will be responsible for leading and delivering the Energy Scaleup Program. Taking charge of this important program, the Program Lead, Scaleup Program will continue to build on EnergyLab's reputation of delivering amazing programs by finding the world's leading startups to participate, creating strong working relationships with the program partners and ensuring the program exceeds all expectations. The Program Lead, Scaleup will also take the lead on managing and developing EnergyLabs network of over 300 mentors.

With the 4th cohort kicking off right now, the annual Energy Scaleup Program brings late stage startups and energy companies together to jointly deploy clean energy solutions. For more information about the Energy Scaleup Program please refer to the program page on our website.
Key Responsibilities
- Find and recruit amazing startups to participate in the EnergyLab Scaleup Program
- Run a high-quality program
- Ensure all program activities are organised in a timely fashion and are carried out in a way that reflects well on EnergyLab. These can include virtual and in person events, sessions with industry contacts, collaboration sessions with partners, networking events, and a range of other activities that may foster positive outcomes for the program.
- Collect regular feedback on program activities and improve the program accordingly
- Continually refine the program to improve outcomes and satisfaction levels
- Develop and execute on social media posting plans to support and promote the program before, during and after.
- Ensure startup participants are receiving the support they need to succeed
- Check in with startups on at least a monthly basis and work with the CEO to ensure the program is delivering what startups need
- Make introductions to mentors, business coaches and other contacts to help address those needs
- Ensure EnergyLab has made a material difference to each startup as a result of them participating in the the program and make all reasonable efforts to ensure they have a successful story to tell within 12 months of joining the program
- Ensure program partners and other stakeholders are achieving their goals for the program
- Check in with partners and other stakeholders on a regular basis
- Assist where required to create positive outcomes between startups and program partners - such as pilots or contracts.
- Deliver on benefits for the program partners and other stakeholders as per the contracts between EnergyLab and the program partners
- Work with the CEO of EnergyLab on business and relationship development strategies and tactics with energy companies and other stakeholders.
- Develop case studies that share the wins between partners and startups as a direct result of the Scaleup Program.

Grow, nurture and utilise the EnergyLab mentor network
- Recruit qualified new mentors each year relevant to each industry segment and/or location that EnergyLab is operating in.
- Leverage the mentor network to find interesting and suitably qualified experts to run workshops or present during EnergLab startup programs or events
- Write and distribute the newsletter to the mentor network on a monthly basis
- Introduce mentors and startups where appropriate
- Find and create opportunities for mentors to engage with startups - including working with other program managers. Promote these opportunities in the mentor newsletter and slack channels.
- Ensure each mentor has a profile making it easy to match them with startup requests and program/event opportunities
- Respond to messages from mentors in a timely fashion and resolve any issues that arise
- Annually review mentor network performance and develop strategies to refine and improve performance.
- Help with other key EnergyLab Activities as required

- Keep in regular contact with startup alumni to understand their progress, share their wins and help where possible.
- Helping with social media posts, events & community management on mentors, startups and partners
- Keep the stakeholder contact system up to date with latest information on mentors, startups and partners.
About You
- You have prior experience in a range the following - startup support, project management, communications, the energy industry, decarbonisation or sustainability
- You may be a professional with a minimum of 3-5 years of experience looking for an organisation where you can have a more positive impact on the world.
- You are great at building and cultivating relationships in person, over email, on the phone or via zoom, it doesn't matter to you, as you can build rapport and create positive relationships no matter the situation.
- You love being organised and can get things smoothly and efficiently back on track if something unexpected pops up.
- You enjoy looking to finding ways to improve your role and what's around you including seeking out feedback on what you have delivered - positive, negative or constructive and using it to improve your approach for next time.
- You love being part of a team, will be the first to offer to help another team member and enjoy sharing in others success.
- You are digitally savvy when it comes to working with the latest business tools - Gsuite, Slack, Zoom, Calendly, Mailchimp and whatever comes next.

Key details
Reporting to: EnergyLab's CEO, Megan Fisher
Location: Either in EnergyLab's Sydney headquarters or EnergyLab’s Melbourne office plus the opportunity to work remotely where appropriate. Ability to travel mostly interstate when required.
Position: Full time.
