catalyst Employment Outcomes (CEO) assists young people leaving school, and those aged up to 22 years, with funding allocated in their NDIS Plans, to develop the knowledge and skills needed to find their first job. Funding is individually allocated through the NDIS School Leaver Employment Supports. The catalyst CEO approach provides intensive, individualised supports, offering a flexible mix of accredited training, small group learning opportunities and one to one individualized support. Job Seekers commit to one day of accredited training and one day of School Leaver Employment Supports each week. Work tasters and placements may be organised on other days of the week.

We are looking for a Facilitator/Facilitators to:

  • Plan group and individual sessions for Job Seekers with the CEO Coordinator
  • Facilitate the delivery of the group and individualised activities for the CEO Job Seekers
  • Develop and monitor individual employment plans for each Job Seeker
  • Liaise with catalyst employment officers providing support to Job Seekers to ensure high quality and relevant work tasters and work placements
  • Source and implement planned ‘work tasters’ and placements with and for Job Seekers
  • Organise relevant developmental opportunities and guest speakers to add to the knowledge and skills of Job Seekers

In 2021 we will be offering 3 CEO groups and we are looking for one or more dynamic facilitators to work with the Job Seekers. We have two Frankston Groups (running on a Tuesday and Friday) and one group running at our head office in Lower Templestowe (Wednesday).

The facilitator role has 9 hours allocated to each group – 6 hours of face to face work and 3 hours of planning and follow up. The role/s can be applied for as a set of 3 days (i.e. to support all three groups), or you could think of applying for only one or two of the group roles.

Skills and Experience

We are looking for a Facilitator with significant experience in:

  • Facilitating groups
  • Supporting young people into paid work
  • Delivery of supports to people with a disability, preferably people with an Intellectual Disability
  • Working within the NDIS environment
  • Employment support with people with disabilities

With:

  • A professional approach.
  • The ability to work under pressure.
  • Organisational and time management skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication with a range of stakeholders including Job Seekers, family members, industry leaders and service providers.
  • A thorough understanding of the principles underpinning the NDIS.
  • A positive approach to change.

You will also need:

  • Australian National Police Check
  • Screening against the Disability Worker Exclusion Scheme Register
