CatholicCare’s Intensive Therapeutic Care program listens to the voices of young people in our care, recognises their uniqueness and tailors responses to their individual needs. We build safe and engaged pathways through our broad suite of services and develop strong links to Communities that support our young people.

The successful incumbent, will work with the Intensive Therapeutic Care Team to provide consistent care for children and young people in the Permanency Support Program who have experienced abuse, trauma or neglect, helping them to get them back on track and support their wellbeing.

We have two vacancies, both are full-time permanent positions or we are open to providing flexibility to work part time (4 days) a week. While both positions are based in West Gosford, there will be a requirement to occasionally travel to Northern Sydney Suburbs. Role requirements:

• Administer psychometric assessments, analyse data and inform coach and guide behavioural advice based on information available. This will inform practice, reflective practice and Case Planning processes.
• Support the Therapeutic Care Team towards best practice in therapeutic care while the child or young person is in the program. This would including guiding planning and interactions between broader care team and young people for learning opportunities and ad-hoc reflections.
• Facilitate regular reflective practice with the Therapeutic care team, linking interactions to the theory of trauma, attachment and child and adolescent development.
• Work collaboratively with all stakeholders to support the program and the delivery of therapeutic care .

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Tertiary qualifications in Psychology, Social Work, Occupational Therapy or Mental Health Nursing.
• Minimum 2-3 years of experience in a Therapeutic Care setting OR working in a clinical environment with children and young people.
• Current registration, or willingness and capability to obtain registration, with the professional body relevant to the qualification. We would welcome Provisional or Student registrations.
• Current Driver's Licence (and access to a comprehensively insured vehicle)
