Ballarat & Grampians Community Legal Service (BGCLS) is offering a rewarding opportunity for full time (38 hours) Family Violence Lawyer to provide services in Ballarat.
As a Family Violence Lawyer, you will provide high quality advice, casework and court representation to clients in the Ballarat region and Family Violence Intervention Order Duty Lawyer Service at Ballarat Magistrates' Court.
This role is guided by the Practice Model for the Specialist Family Violence Courts in Victoria. You will be required to provide holistic legal services to clients impacted by family violence, including both respondents and affected family members. Practice areas in addition to Family Violence include, but are not limited to, tenancy, debt, family law, criminal law, fines, and VOCAT.
This role will work collaboratively with a range of key stakeholders including court staff, police prosecutors, Victoria Legal Aid duty lawyers, private practitioners and support services.
