We currently have an exciting role for you to lead our Community & Cultural Development Team.
As our Community and Cultural Development Leader you will:
- Work with us to establish and deliver a strategic program of work which includes the use of our community facilities, funding and improving outcomes for our Aboriginal and culturally diverse communities, children, young people and families
- Provide leadership, direction and oversight to the team and manage its resources
- Utilise your community development expertise to guide the team’s efforts to build community capacity, develop programs, initiatives and activities and measure the impact of our work
- Develop and maintain constructive relationships with local groups and organisations, peak bodies, industry groups and other tiers of government
- Represent Council on significant committees, forums, groups and partnerships including our Aboriginal Advisory Panel and Welcoming Australia partnership
- Provide expert subject knowledge and drive contemporary approaches to community development, community infrastructure and funding
- Maintain and share up to date knowledge of changing community needs and expectations, contemporary research, practices, and trends relevant to the team’s work
- Coach and support your people to use their strengths, reach their potential and deliver great outcomes for our community
- Be an active member of the Community Development Section’s leadership team
As our ideal candidate you will:
- Have outstanding community development skills and be passionate about using these to build community capacity and wellbeing
- Be comfortable operating at both a strategic and operational level to plan, implement and review programs, projects, services and facility operations
- Be a proven leader of people and able to create a high performing team
- Have great skills in in developing and maintaining networks, strategic relationships and partnerships with government agencies, peak bodies, not-for-profit/ for purpose organisations and other community stakeholders
- Bring a range of networks and relationships relevant to the role
- Be skilful in delivering presentations, and preparing reports, grant applications and submissions
- Have a positive attitude, willingness to work in a team environment and enjoy a multi-faceted role
- Have significant experience in working constructively and respectfully with Aboriginal and culturally diverse people and groups to achieve outcomes
- Have at least five years’ work experience in relevant roles within government, not-for-profit, for purpose or related organisations (essential)
- Hold relevant qualifications and/ or significant commensurate experience in a relevant field

This is a Level 7 position which has a current salary range of $111,404.44 - $118,412.36 (plus Super).
