ABOUT US

Code Black Psychology is a multidisciplinary team of psychology, social work and legal practitioners. The team specialises in providing threat management, legal knowledge, psychological and social work services that address repeat harmful behaviours in workplaces, people’s homes and the wider community. We are an interdisciplinary team of experienced practitioners providing services to: (1) care teams supporting persons with complex psychosocial disabilities with persistent risks of harming themselves and others, and (2) organisations seeking expertise in the resolution of complex and protracted disputes and complaints as well as opportunities to enhance psychological safety.

Our approach is working collaboratively with our clients by bringing confidence, curiosity, and integrity. We work extensively in the government and private sectors in Australia and New Zealand. Through teamwork we provide complex case consultations, diagnostic reviews, care team support and coordination, behaviour support and change, bespoke training and advice on policy and framework development.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking a part-time People and Culture Manager to help us develop our team and build our culture. The role is for 2-3 days per week.

We would love to find an HR professional who thrives on working closely with a small team doing high-demand, complex work. We need your expertise to help us continue to grow our business, while remaining true to our core company values of confidence, curiosity and integrity.

The key tasks of the role will be:

  • Revise and evolve our overarching people and cultural strategy,
  • Oversee all stages of the employee lifecycle,
  • Maintain HRIS (HR Assured) and the office operations manual,
  • Work with the senior leadership team to support the development of our organisational capacity and workforce capabilities,
  • Enhance the engagement and retention of our team members by supporting each team member to build their skills, knowledge and areas of expertise,
  • Encourage each team member to develop their current role and career progression at Code Black Psychology,
  • Oversee our organisational governance by maintaining our policies, procedures and guidelines; ensuring they comply with legislative requirements and standards,
  • Assist with annual audits of our registrations with the Disability Act and with the NDIS.

ABOUT YOU

The most important attribute we are seeking is someone who will add to our collaborative culture and fit well with our team of passionate professionals. Code Black Psychology provides services to the most complex, vulnerable and high-risk individuals in the community. We are seeking a People and Culture Manager who will bring just as much passion to supporting the growth and psychological safety of the team.

Ideally you will have:

  • Tertiary qualification in human resources, industrial relations, business management or a related discipline,
  • Experience in integrating people and culture functions into small to medium sized businesses experiencing rapid demand and growth,
  • Knowledge of the use of a person-centred and, wherever necessary, restorative-focused approach to team cohesion and development,
  • A contemporary view of people and culture practices, trends and innovations,
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills,
  • Experience managing a modern HRIS / employee experience platform, ideally HR Assured.

An added bonus would be:

  • Experience working in the health, justice or disability sectors,
  • Knowledge of the Microsoft Outlook 365 Suite, including SharePoint, and project management software.
