Working side by side with a young adult with learning difficulties who is working in a childcare setting and studying a Certificate 3 in Childcare, this role will be to support and offer workplace assistance to develop the skills and competencies needed to be successful as a Childcare Worker.
This is a part-time (2 days/week) role that would be suited to a retired learning support teacher or university student from a childcare, primary teaching, learning support, OT or speech therapy background looking for something a bit different.
Knowledge and understanding of working memory, processing, dyscalculia and short-term memory loss is critical to this role, along with appropriate qualifications or working towards qualifications in a related area.
This is a 12 month role with immediate start, based on the upper North Shore/Frenchs Forrest area in Sydney on Weds and Thurs, 8.30-5.30pm and will involve pick up and drop off from home (included in the hours). An hourly rate based on qualifications and experience will be negotiated.
Successful candidates must have a current paid WWCC (working with children check), ABN, car and be COVID vaccinated.
If you are a compassionate, caring, patient and organised person who loves helping others, then this role might be just for you. The young adult has no behavioural issues, other than having learning and processing difficulties that makes learning new things in the workplace a bit harder.
