• Seeking Experienced Disability Support Workers in the Cairns & Mareeba Regions

Cootharinga North Queensland is one of the most experienced community and disability support providers in North Queensland. Our purpose is tailoring solutions to assist people to live the life they want.

Cootharinga North Queensland’s business is growing rapidly and are seeking experienced support workers to meet our customer demands.

Our Regions include but not limited to Mackay, Townsville, Cairns & Far North, Mount Isa, Normanton and Croydon.

About the role:

You can expect to undertake various duties including but not limited to, Personal Care (full training and buddy shifts provided), Manual Handling, Social Support, Transport, Meal Preparation, Domestic Assistance in Home and Record Keeping.

Applicants need to be aware that these positions involve shift work and may involve multiple shifts of varying durations throughout the day/night and including sleepover shifts - attractive penalty rates included! Casual positions may lead to Part Time depending on availability and ongoing reliability.

We are looking for experienced recruits who have achieved the below minimum requirements:

• Minimum 6 months experience in Disability Support; or a
• Completed Certificate III or higher in Individual Support

Mandatory requirements include, but not limited to:

• Working entitlements in Australia
• Currently hold a Working with Children - Blue Card
• NDIS Worker Screening Check - Yellow Card
• A current 'C' Class Driver License, acceptable under Queensland Legislation
• Applicants are required to either possess or be willing to obtain a First Aid Certificate including CPR.
• Completed NDIS Quality Orientation Module
• A recently completed National Police Check
• Applicants required to undergo and pass Drug and Alcohol testing and a Pre-employment Functional Assessment
• It is a condition of employment that you obtain a fully maintained smart phone or similar device with Wi-Fi access for work purposes
