Established in 1984, Craigieburn Secondary College is set in landscaped grounds in the Northern suburbs of Melbourne. Our 1196 students are drawn from the local area and a diversity of cultural and language backgrounds. The staff comprises of 5 Principal Class, 100 teachers including 10 leading teachers, 7 learning specialists, and 42 education support staff.

About the Role

Responsibilities
  • Provides coordination support to teachers through rostering and the organisation of the work of a team of aides, including supervision and guidance.
  • Conducts routine presentations to parents to assist teachers in communicating objectives and outcomes relating to educational programs and/or students.
  • Liaise with external providers of support services.
  • Provide medical intervention support that involves a specific medical condition approved by the Department, requires specialised training/instruction that requires regular updating and has clearly defined responsibility for the administration of such support.

Selection Criteria

  1. Possess the technical knowledge and expertise relevant to the position with demonstrated skills in youth wellbeing, councelling, social work or relevant welfare fields.
  2. A demonstrated ability to be sensitive to the needs of young people and their families, particularly those from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.
  3. Demonstrated high level oral and written communication skills including the ability to develop and maintain networks that enhance the effective provision of services for students at risk.
  4. Demonstrated capacity to supervise the work of other support staff and to develop procedures and guidelines relating to the work area.
  5. Demonstrated commitment to professional learning and growth for both self and others.
  6. Demonstrated capacity to provide advice and support to management in respect to the work area.
