The Childcare and Kindergarten Association Limited (C&K) is a not-for-profit early childhood provider with nearly 350 early childhood education and care services located across Queensland. C&K acknowledges that each child and family have unique early education and care requirements and so we provide a range of different programs including childcare, kindergarten, outside school hours' care and integrated services. At C&K Arlington Drive, we cater for 150 children, operating from the hours of 6.30am to 6.30pm. We pride ourselves on creating a play-based learning environment and program that is developed in collaboration with children, families and the community.

About the role

The purpose of this role is to assist with the implementation of a quality care and education program for the allocated group of children. Relationships are foundational with our children hence you will have a deep and trusting approach and will observe what a child can do, allowing for purposeful observation. You will have a gentle approach and make yourself and the environment predictable so that the children feel safe and secure. You will be flexible and adaptable and enjoy the variety to work as a float. You will work an 8 hour day, Tuesday to Thursday and 6.5 hours on Monday and Friday. You will have:

  • A minimum of an ACECQA approved Certificate lll in Children's Services.
  • Recent experience within the sector
  • Current First Aid, Asthma, Anaphylaxis and CPR certificate
  • Current working with children and National Police Check
  • Strong communication skills and be a genuine team player (loves a good laugh)
  • The ability to develop and maintain respectful relationships with children, families, colleagues and community at an established centre
  • Knowledge of a quality play-based curriculum for children in line with the National Quality Standard (NQS) and the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF)
  • Willingness to learn and implement C&K's Curriculum Approach: Listening and Learning Together
  • Knowledge of and commitment to children's safety and wellbeing.
