About this role

A position has become available for an Inclusion Support Assistant to join the Laidley Kindergarten team in Term 1, 2023.

The position would initially be casual, with a view to becoming part time as enrolments are finalised. The role will require you to work up to 15 hours each week on Monday and Tuesday. Please note these hours will be reviewed throughout the year based on the inclusion needs of the service.

As the inclusion support assistant, you would be required to assist in delivering a program to 20 children each day, and to provide 1:1 support for children with challenging behaviours and additional needs as required. The successful applicant must have previous experience in an early childhood education and care setting, have the drive and capability to implement and introduce inclusive strategies into the program, and be flexible with their hours.

Ideal applicants will have:

• An approved Early Childhood Certificate III or Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care (or equivalent qualification);
• Current Paid Blue card (or willing to obtain one prior to commencement);
• Up to date First Aid, CPR, Asthma and Anaphylaxis Certificate or willing to obtain;
• National Police Check issued within the last three months (or willing to obtain);
• Confidence working with challenging behaviours
• Patience and a positive attitude
• Prior experience in an early year's education setting. Prior experience working in an Inclusion support role will be highly regarded

About Laidley Kindergarten – Affiliate C&K

Laidley Kindergarten offers quality education and care for children the year before they attend Prep.  As a dedicated, single unit kindergarten, the children take part in a child-orientated play-based program with children ranging from three to five years of age.

The service is located in the township of Laidley in an old church with a large, open indoor and outdoor play areas offering children a range of opportunities to learn through play.
